Tyler Mook accused of assaulting girlfriend in FL

http://www.wsmv.com/story/27453907/tyler-mook-accused-of-assaulting-girlfriend-in-fl

NASHVILLE, TN (WSMV) -
The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation's only person of interest in the disappearance of Shelley Mook has been arrested on separate charges.
Tyler Mook is listed as the main person of interest in his wife's disappearance and possible murder. Now, he's accused of attacking a different young mother.
Shelley Mook, a Bedford County teacher, is still missing. Her case remains unsolved.
Meanwhile, Tyler Mook has been living in Florida with his new girlfriend. Prosecutor Kevin Keele said the woman bears a striking resemblance to Tyler Mook's estranged wife.
"They are both similar in size and stature, both have blonde hair, similar appearance, both have blonde daughters for children," Keele said. "The resemblance is uncanny."
Tyler Mook is behind bars after allegedly trying to drown his new girlfriend.
According to an affidavit, they were on a boat with Tyler Mook's brother and another woman.
Tyler Mook's girlfriend told him to slow down. Investigators said he then ripped off her bathing suit top, threw her overboard and jumped in and held her underwater.
Keele said Tyler's Mook's brother then came to the rescue.
"Had Tyler's brother, Andrew, not been there to pull Tyler off of her, he would have most likely succeeded," Keele said.
The brother and the other woman gave statements to police corroborating everything. They said after trying to drown his girlfriend, Tyler Mook said, "No one disrespects me in front of my family. I will kill her."
"I think he would be a danger to any woman that would have become involved with him," Keele said.
Keele said Tyler Mook has no regard for the law.
"I have met very few individuals like Tyler Mook that had absolutely no conscious and an immediate propensity for violence," he said.
Keele said the woman is lucky to be alive.
"There's no doubt in my mind that he would have killed her had Andrew not been there to physically choke him off of her," he said.
"It's a shame Shelley Mook didn't have someone like Andrew there when she needed help," Keele added.
The victim in this case now has an order of protection against Tyler Mook. He has not bonded out of jail in Florida.
Tyler Mook's Tennessee attorney, David Raybin, said he's being represented by a public defender in Florida and does plan to contest these latest assault and battery charges.

Person of Interest In Edinboro Woman's 2011 Disappearance Wants Custody of Their Child

New developments, in the case of a young mother from Edinboro, missing now for three years.
The man suspected in her disappearance wants custody of their child.

Shelley Jones-Mook, who was 24-years old at the time, disappeared in Tennessee, back in February of 2011.

She was last seen with her ex-husband.

Police tracked down her burned-out car, but never found her body.

Her ex-husband, Tyler Mook, is the main person of interest in her disappearance.

But, nobody has been charged in her presumed murder.

We've learned that her ex-husband is still fighting for custody of their 10-year old daughter, who now lives in Edinboro with her grandmother.

Tyler Mook lost a custody fight in Tennessee, so after appealing, now a judge here in Pennsylvania will determine if he gets custody.

Shelly's mother released a statement to WICU & WSEE, it reads,
"I am very confident that any judge will have the knowledge and facts to make the best decision for my granddaughter. She has flourished here in Pennsylvania and my hopes will be that she continues to. She has been surrounded with love and family, which has allowed her to grow and find happiness after the tragedy of her mother missing. We continue to seek justice for Shelley and will hold those responsible for her disappearance to the highest extent of the law when they are found out. I pray that Shelley's beautiful daughter, my amazing granddaughter, will soon have peace with a final resting place for her mother."
