Missing teacher's husband guilty of attempted murder

The ex-husband of a missing Shelbyville teacher, who has been considered a "person of interest" by authorities since her 2011 disppearence, has been convicted of attempting to kill his girlfriend in Florida. Tyler Mook, 35, now a resident of Palm City, Florida, threw his girlfriend over the front of a boat and held her underwater in Stuart, Florida, in October 2014, authorities and an arrest report said. Mook was convicted of attempted second-degree murder by a Martin County, Florida jury Thursday, Florida media reports. He will be sentenced in late May. Shelley Mook, his ex-wife, was last seen in February 2011 after dropping her daughter off at his home near Shelbyville on the way to meet a worker remodeling a home she was moving into in Murfreesboro.
